Reminiscing about our Embellish Retreat 2024

Earlier in the year we were lucky enough to be taken away to a beautiful Airbnb at King’s Beach on the Fleurieu Peninsula. This is the location of a previous Embellish Retreat that the girls and Tina enjoyed so much, Tina had to book it in again.

Just the drive from Adelaide to Kings Beach was beautiful, the rolling hills, before we’d arrived there was a sense of calm felt amongst the group.

We spent two days and one night as a team connecting, sharing admiration for one another, happy tears and so many laughs.

The weekends activities begun with a circle of admiration, where we all went around the circle to each team member voicing what we appreciate, admire about them, while highlighting what they independently bring to the team. How wonderful it is to hear from a team of women, positive characteristics and traits that they see in you that you may not see in yourself. The room was filled with blushing, happy tears and giggles.

This was followed with a workshop held by our beautiful client and marketing guru, Alli, where we worked collaboratively to hone-in on what Embellish means to us, and how we want to show up as a business for our clients. We went over our values and what integral parts help to define the business. There were an abundance of colourful sticky notes and messy handwriting, which helped us to guide Alli on her task of creating a brand identity and marketing plan for Embellish. We all had a part in creating this for the benefit of the future of Embellish.

We finished the afternoon with the pleasure of experiencing a tranquil sound bath by Heather Frahn, where she used her countless instruments, glass xylophones, rain makers and everything in between. We laid resting together for an hour, drifting with the beautiful sounds of these instruments.

The night saw an abundance of shared platters and food we’d all contributed, with a delicious butter chicken for dinner and LOTS of desserts. If you know Tina, you understand  that there was at least 10 blocks of chocolate, slice, cake, anything and everything your heart desires. We played games in front of the fire, spoons, Pictionary and of course 80s and 90s karaoke with a dance party.

As we flowed into Sunday after a good nights rest, the early birds went for a sunrise hike, where on multiple occasions in the damp beachside walking trail, a few of us were uncomfortable close to slipping on the mud.

We enjoyed a big breakfast, followed by a cacao ceremony held by our leader, Tina. From there we spent the rest of the day in the sunshine, spending quality time with each other, playing with Tina’s oracle cards and crystal, enjoying the gifts she had generously given us all.

Thank you Tina for hosting such a wonderful and restorative weekend! Your generosity and thoughtfulness continue to leave a lasting impact on all of us. We feel incredibly fortunate to have such a caring leader. This weekend will forever hold a special place in our hearts. xx
